December 29, Thursday – Cape Horn

Highlight of today was a cruise around Cape Horn, where the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans meet.  The ship left Ushuaia and travelled to the Atlantic, before turning down to Cape Horn.

There was a lighthouse and communications tower on the point and another cruise ship anchored near the point.  It looked like their guests had a shore excursion to visit the area.

The ship sailed around Cape Horn to the Pacific side, and then did a pirouette back to the Atlantic side.

The ship then headed south towards Antarctica across Drake's Passage (another item from history class).  Today was spent attending whatever shipboard events caught our interests.
